As standard the radios come with 0.5 Watt setting for transmission power, with this cable and Chirp software, you can unlock all the user settings, including setting the radio for full power 1watt, PMR 446 legal frequencies, marine band and other 2m VHF and UHF frequencies.

I can set the BF-T1 to operate from 120-220Mhz VHF , and from 300 - 520 Mhz UHF - also to high power 1.5 watts and other hidden features on the radio.
